If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

When camping I've found people always end up sharing food. Some wonderful concoctions cooked with Cam et al at a MM rally and an AGM.dalebrignall wrote:i think next year we should have a web site party what do people think.where everyone provides something, could make it a barbaque, just thinking of some ideas thats all
Pasta, salad, cake etc in Roger's tent with folk @ National. May not be gourmet but we enjoyed it.

national rally - do something useful
Well you all seem to be having a good old-fashioned moan about the National. This will change nothing. Why not get yourselves organised, run a proper survey amongst the website users, then put any fair and reasonable criticisms to the organisers (copy to the MMOC National Committee) with your ideas and suggestions for improvements next year? Nobody important will take any notice of what you say in individual postings on this website. You could also offer to help, maybe as a group you could do marshalling, or clean the loos or pick up the litter when the rallygoers have gone home
I believe that this has already been done, at least in part. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Additionally, while on the committee myself, I made a number of suggestions, and also offers of help.
I am now also the liaison between the website and the committee, and rest assured that both positive and negative feedback will be passed to them.

can you blame people for complaining when the hog roast was 7pounds,and that was a pork roll with no stuffing, very expensive.i am told by a member of our branch that the beer and wine ran out and then the generator failed.thats not the way to treat people who have paid a lot of money and driven there cars from all the corners of the globe to be there.i think thease are just comments.we are not wingeing we are putting comments accross thats all,we all want the same thing.a good fun and positive club.as i have said before its the people in the club that make it what it .i realise that getting a band the marquees the supper is expensive, but we do need a bit of value for money, ill cook my own food next year.

As far as the beer is concerned I believe that the Brewery brewed 8 barrells of the Minor Magic beer alone! I dont think they were expecting to go a fast as it did!, and the generator problem was caused through contaminated fuel. 1200 were expected but loads of non pre-booked people arrived and then decided to attend the party at the last minute.

Of course I could be mistaken, but having attended the 50th Anniversary rally I don't seem to recall this kind of problem, and I believe there were far more in attendance then.

Is it too early to ask how many people attended the rally?regaliaqueen wrote:As far as the beer is concerned I believe that the Brewery brewed 8 barrells of the Minor Magic beer alone! I understand that there were so many they lost count. Some estimates were as high as 3000. Woodstock was like a scene from The Borrowers.
