I myself am considering doing a short part of the run on a sponsored basis for the marie curie foundation. Even if i do only 20 or 30 miles of the route, it could be a good way of collecting money and if more people did a short hop for money it could be lucrative for the charity.
By all means Rob, the more the merrier.
In fact I suggested this at a committee meeting, and asked if the Marie Curie could join us for part of the way.
So if anyone else wants to get sponsorship for either the whole trip or just a part of it, I'm all in favour.
Once I have had replies from all of those taking part I will post details of the route on here.
I have just told my wife he joyous news about going on a portion of the LEO and she said 'thats nice dear, i suppose i will be on holiday on my own then' pooohhh, the dates clash with family holiday so cant go but its still a good for sponsorship.
i think it will be good 4 us 2 all stay 2gether so if some 1 could count me into the travelodge's/b+b/Yh or send me the info for them would be appreciated either way

I could take you as far as Preston... I'm planning to set off back the day after the rally and stop over once at a YH somewhere in Scotland.
Thanks for the offer Alex. Failing any other offers that go a bit further I'll gladly take you up on it.

OK. The reason I suggested Preston is because it's on the mainline so you should be able to catch a train on Tuesday evening from there direct to Birmingham New Street. I haven't decided where to stay on Monday night yet; how about Rowardennan Lodge overlooking Loch Lomond?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
[quote="mal"]Bill, if you do decide to include Beamish in next years LEO, I and possibly a few other classics would certainly meet up there for the day. If you give me a bit of warning nearer the time, I'll see if I can fix something up for a photo shoot of your own cars etc; in the main street, /quote]
Has anyone heard from Mal recently? I have been trying to contact him about this but had no reply
