2nd one must have been during recording 'A design for life', judging by my left hand position. How did James Dean Bradfield manage to play it so well? Talented (*&%^£$ ...
Oh. and where has my hair gone? These are from about 12 -15 years ago

Oh stoppit - you'll be tempting me to put the audio online next (and no, that's not an invite) - one of the 'advantages' of being in a band with 3, sometimes 4 other professional sound engineers was that we recorded nearly everything, and I still have the DATs/minidiscs/tapes (remember that stuff?). Nothing on wax disc, sadly, although we did have the facility, but some recorded via a valve powered desk not for any grand reasons of the sound, but just 'cos we still had them too at work

PS and you should have seen the MSP live - you'd have had second thoughts about guitaring again

Good or bad? Funny thing is, when I used to see really great guitarists live, I felt like packing up guitar, as I never thought I could reach their standards. Now I just try harder, but it's 30 years too late
Probably the most impressive guitar work I have seen live, are Dave Gilmour Comfortably Numb (note perfect!) Alex Lifeson Xanado. Edward Van Halen Eruption, Ritchie Blackmore Highway Star/Burn.
Dan Hawkins Given' Up
Hey, I'm a guitarist aswell, I got a fender squier strat but personally I prefer playing the electro-acoustics. my favourite is my recently aquired faith saturn hi-gloss electro-acoustic, gorgeous guitar!

Good or bad? Absolutely mind blowingly good Only ever seen DG 'live' on TV, but yeah, note perfect every time, which I found a little 'samey', but the CN solos are great, so why tinker with them? Have to say I'm not into the metal side of things (and I don't include Pink Floyd in that), but will appreciate anything if it's well played, even (grudgingly) Queen...

Queen in the early days were terrible live. Saw them in Glasgow Appolo late 70's and walked out half way through. They were great live towards the end of their life though.
Must admit I'm still into the heavy rock side of things. My Chemical Romance, Trivium. Hence the Korg AX3000 pedal unit. Shred+Flange+Chorus+Canyon Reverb = hit any note you want, it is going to sound great
Ive worked semi pro for many years in a number of blues combos around southern England up till a few years ago playing guitar and singing (64 Reissue Telecaster with a Hipshot B Bender through a Fender Super 60).
These days its acoustic "bluesish" music (blues / RnB (the old type) / Soul / Bluegrass etc) Ive been running a monthly acoustic blues session at my local pub for the past 10 years which is a lot of fun (see below**).
I got rid of most of my guitars a number of years ago - they included 1980 Les Paul Deluxe / 1980 Gibson 335 / 1966 Epiphone Casino / early 90's US Strat / Fender Precision bass / 1970 Epiphone 12 string ...seemed to coincide with becoming a parent...funny that!.
Ive hung onto my acoustics - 1970 Martin 0018 / 1988 Dobro 33H / 1981 Nicholson dreadnought / 1970 Gibson RB 250 Mastertone banjo / Oscar Schmidt A series mandolin / Yamaha 12 string / Bouzouki / Fiddle and Viola / piano.
**If anyone is ever around Sway, New Forest on the second Friday of the month, come along to Sway Acoustic Blues at the Forest heath Hotel!.
Regards, Mike.

Hey Mike, that's some list of really nice guitars and things. I regret getting rid of my Guild SG200, Musicman Telecaster. Mind you the Mexican Fender Strat I got 2nd hand is a real 'fluke' guitar. Perfect in every sense of the word. Even stays in tune with massive wammy bar use Never been a big blues fan, but do like Blues Alive by Garry Moore. Glad you held onto the Martin, lovely guitar.
