Morris Minor Van JBW506D Almond Green
I bought this van new in 1966 and have fond memories of it.
My Dad worked at the Cowley Pressed Steel Plant and got it at a discouted rate (about £300). I have the receipt somewhere.
It was delivered to Cowley and collected by my Dad with the body still covered in protective wax. I think it had a low compression engine.
I spent ages getting the wax off with white spirit.
Anyone know if it is still in existence?

Wish it had been possible to buy another, I was only earning about £12 per week and just starting out in life.
You could buy a good second hand car in those days for less than a £100 and in fact my girlfriend who now is the lady wife bought me a Ford V8 Pilot in 1965 for £12. Now that is the car I should have stashed away

Wow. No wonder you married her!Leo wrote:my girlfriend who now is the lady wife bought me a Ford V8 Pilot in 1965 for £12.

My dad can occasionally be heard mumbling wistfully about the classic bike he sold cheaply in favour of something more practical when I was on the way...Now that is the car I should have stashed away

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
