Sorry to hear that. You're right, when the company I was working for a few years ago unexpectedly went bust I'd already bought all my Christmas presents in the expectation of being paid at the end of December.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
Oh bad luck J! Hope you get sorted soon. Invicta just did the same to 8.
Ector sounds great now though, saw you going past in Oadby t'other day
If you need any bits to keep you on the road give me a shout
Dave
Oh terrible really feel for you
Your absolutely right a fair few do choose the most innapropriate time of year , that or use some national disaster /crisis / state of finances as a scapegoat.
The worst part is they would have seen this coming a while back, suppose its too much to expect a bit of honesty & civility nowadays.
Best of luck finding something else an hope you get a bit of karmic kickback and end up finding something much better !
Hi,
We met some time ago when i dropped off some bits at your place of work and you showed me some of your work.
You,re a talented young lady and whilst a terrible time of year for it to happen hang on in there.
keep us informed and BEST WISHES for alternatine employment being found very soon
Think positive. When one door closes, another will open. With your talents, it will be easy to find a new and probably better job. Bad time of year granted, but that's life for ya.
i got made redundant 6 years ago used to work on a farm silly hours i got a job with royal mail never looked back.there is always something around the corner.
Thanks for the support guys. Unfortunately, I will only get this month's pay (about seven hundred quid), a week's pay on top in leiu of notice period, and whatever bonuses or unused holiday pay I've got left over, so I doubt it'll be much.
At least I will have time now to break out the brushes and paints and finally do some painting! Pet portrait, anyone? Sorry I can't do cars!:)
Hope all goes well for you. I got laid off many years ago early December (on my birthday as well ) and ended up retraining, and as others have said I never looked back.
John
Just to add, when I took a redundancy package, I started my own business, that was 12 years ago, and now only have to work one day a month. Best decision I ever made.
Hi sorry to hear your unfortunate news,
I was chief engineer at a bottling company and worked long hours some times until ten at night to make sure the machinery ran smoothly, one year I worked Christmas day and boxing to make sure the machinery was ready to go on start up after the Christmas brake so the company could complete a big order for the 2000 millennium festival and all went well. When I returned back to work after three days off I was then taken into the office and made redundant. (nice company) NOT!
Sorry to hear of your bad luck news, and I cant understand why companies don`t at least give a decent amount of notice at this time of year to at least give people a chance to not go into a spending spree thinking they can pay it off in the New Year, I know that we shouldn`t spend what we haven`t got but thats often easier said than done and is just human nature, anyway here`s hoping for some good luck for you in the New Year
Cheers
Kevin
