nope, just a standard replacement part, it goes against the grain though!!!

researching the clock i came across an "atmos" clock. very clever device, it uses fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric pressure to keep the mainspring would up. clockwork morris minor that never needs filling with fuel anyone??

you say a clockwork mog - did once see a pic of a beetle with a giant key stuck on teh back - quite amusing it was

apparently its a sealed box that expands and contracts, pushing. pulling a ratchet in the process. rest of the clockwork has to be very efficient as the amount of energy put into it is very small...

i think the wind up vw is from a film??
