COSTCO batteries are great value (mine now 7 years) and not at all expensive - Makro are also good price but can't vouch for longevity. 'Calcium' technology is just a gimmick - there's only a tiny amount of Ca in there!!

The good quality CA batteries completely replace all of the antimony, which removes the problem of antimony deposits forming on the negative plates, which sets up 'micro' batteries within the battery, which in turn increases self discharge. So if you buy a Wrought Lead Calcium Grid battery it's not a gimmickbmcecosse wrote:COSTCO batteries are great value (mine now 7 years) and not at all expensive - Macro are also good price but can't vouch for longevity. Well, I wouldn't call buying a new battery every eight years wasting
money! I bought a Makro unit today and it was almost exactly twice the price paid eight years ago. Has the average wage also doubled in the last eight years I wonder?
