Absolutely - leave the old filter alone - v little pointnin the 'screw on' type.

So long as the breakers has a clue. I took one off a Mini, went to pay, and was told "a tenner, it's a remote filter housing".

Trying to point out it was a standard bit off a Mini (and can be had for 10 - 15 quid new from some specialists) took a while...
