BRAKE SERVO KIT
Hi
Can anyone please email me a copy of the instructions for the Lockheed Brake Servo Kit that seems to be a common upgrade?
Cheers

Dunno about 'instruction' - but the servo should be mounted slightly 'nose up', and if you want to servo ALL the brakes you will need to blank off the existing port leading from the master cylinder to the rear brakes, insert the servo in the line going to the front brakes and add a T to take a new line (after the servo) back to joint the pipe feeding the rear brakes !
You should note that a servo doesn't make the existing brakes any better - it just reduces the leg load.

Just thought I'd mention a bitch of a fault to find if you ever work on a Minor with poor rear brakes that has a servo fitted.
If the fitter has used a Servo Check Valve in the vacuum line to the servo, make sure it's installed the correct way!
If you ever read this 'Scot' I forgive you...

The choice is yours - bit more work to add in the rears, and then there is the question of whether that will allow you to apply full pressure to the front brakes before the rears lock up!! Ideally - I suggest all 4 should be servo-ed, and an adjustable pressure limiting valve fitted in the line to the rear brakes. This will allow fine tuning to get it just right.

Thats getting far too modern!I suggest all 4 should be servo-ed, and an adjustable pressure limiting valve fitted in the line to the rear brakes. This will allow fine tuning to get it just right.
I know my old Fiesta used to have valves under the boot area so the brake efficiency was 'supposedly' automatically varied depending on what load you were carrying.
Perhaps the same could be done with the Minor?

What would Macgyver do..?
