Would you like to spend a day in rural Bedfordshire over Easter?
To be more exact would you like to spend a day in a double garage helping me sort out the alignment of doors and wings. I have all the wings and doors on, but it needs some expert assistance to make them line up.
I haven't done this job before and would value some help from someone with more experience!
I'm off work from Good Friday the 6th till Thursday the 12th.
All the usual conditions apply loads of tea and biscuits and all meals provided.

Well, I am very willing to give you a hand Roger, bearing in mind that I have only done the basics of door adjusting (ask Lou )

Just remember to fit the doors first since the door opening is not adjustable, once they are in alignment the wings have to be made to line up with them not the other way round. It is advisable to remove the rubber draught excluder from the door openings if this is preventing you from getting the door skins flush with the body. the rubber can be fitted later and the flanges adjusted if necessary.

Hi Roger,
I'd love to help but had plans underway to get going with the Transit van engine change... If the Transit becomes too unappealing, I may change my mind!

We had a good day. The front offside wing has been on and off about a dozen times and we are happy its the best we can do. Its not perfect the gap is even and reasonable tight. The profile of the door and that of the wing do not match exactly so it fits at the top and bottom, but not perfectly in the middle.
The doors were relatively easy to do we drew a pencil line round the hinges so that we could gauge how much we had moved it. Then it is a case of move the whole door up or down then adjust in and out on the hinges, then repeat the up and down correction until they fit.
I have to say it was MUCH easier with two people than one.
Thanks Onne
Roger.
