1300 crossflow

Any idea if the bolt pattern is the same on these as on the 1600 crossflow? IE, will it mate up to a sierra 5 speed box without the need for adapters just as the 1600? I've been offered one for peanuts and it might be a decent engine for my traveller unless something better and equally inexpensive c...

Aircooled minor?

I vaguely remember, seeing on some website a few years ago, that someone out there was building a front engined air cooled minor, using a lowlight I think, and very early beetle running gear in a bid to replicate what the original Minor would have been like. Can anyone help me find that page again? ...

Just to elaborate (visually) on Mike's post :) Factory bodywork http://www.ercruisers.com/Beta_Website/car_pics/1950_Ford.jpg Sectioned bodywork (and some other custom touches - grille - shaved handles - frenched headlamps - custom rear lights- radiused rear wheel arches)- but the car remains pretty...

Maybe just a matter of different width drums then? I'll have a measure and post up the width. This would be the measurement taken from one drum backplate to another or am I going totally off?

English Axles

I have a spare Anglia 105e axle and was thinking about the possibility of fitting it to my traveller - would it by any chance be too narrow for the task? I looked up the rear track width of both mk1 escorts and 105e anglias online and saw there was 108mm more width on the mk1 escort than on the angl...

Plastic/media blasting seems to be a good compromise yes...I've also been told that the chances of the plastic beads distorting the metal is much less than with with other methods :)

If your ultimate desire is looks..just lower the rear slightly more than the front as done within kustom circles to create that lovely tail dragging stance - if you want to look up more pictures for ideas try looking for "fender skirts" as that is what Americans typically call them http://...

First of all, thank you for all the information - you've practically saved me from paying for a lot of bits which I'd have had no use for otherwise! Looks like 1275 will be the best way forward - I'll check about the carbs but might end up getting one big one up instead of the two. I have seen vario...

Bits off a MG1100 engine

I have the opportunity to buy an MG1100 engine complete with twin su's and "4 into 1" exhaust (I have yet to go and see this engine so I'm relying on the seller given information for now) The asking price is around 100 pounds which I figured could possily be a good way of upgrading either ...

This might be a bit of a blind shot... - take it only as inspiration if you will - but, with ford gearbox conversions being so commonplace, how difficult could it be to adapt an automatic out of a sierra (or maybe a smaller engined mk2 escort)? The escort one may possibly have better gearing due to ...

Hi guys.. thanks for the replies and a happy new year to you all as well :) I'm aware that the traveller does not have a separate chassis but I think that with enough reinforcement to the chassis and a well planned pickup rear the conversion can still be made successfully (there are a few pickups wh...

Hello (traveller to pickup)

Hi there... Tom from Malta here, a friend of FrankM83's Been lurking for quite a while but thought I'd introduce myself at last :) I have a Traveller which I'm hoping to convert (with lots of help from a few good friends) into a customised pickup. Wish you all a good 2009 and thanks for such a great...
