Depending on which side of Warrington you live,i can tell you of 2 good garages but both nearer to St Helens pm me if you would like their details.One is superb but not cheap,the other cheaper but still very good.

If you want try www. goodgarage scheme for some nearer to you :wink:

Aren't we lucky

Just reading thru a couple of posts with regards to paint and waxing etc and i thought how lucky we are to have such brilliant products these days to look after our cars? At one time all we had was red oxide primers and solid wax polish and not much else! I remember when i worked in a motor factors ...

Plasikote is good stuff.....try Wilkinsons cheaper than Halfrauds :wink:

If you go for the emulsion idea make sure you seal the paint with clear laquer :D

Buy the Bilt Hamber auto balm first(£15 ish),then compound and then polish and then auto balm it...if you don't protect the paintwork with the balm you are just making more work ! :( Red cars are the worse for oxydising..but if you offer the paintwork protection with wax or nowadays autobalm they wo...

Sorry about that...you are right if its straight red ie no laquer it could be sortable but once paint has oxydised its difficult to sort

Ahhh Vauxhall red ! A cut with Farecla g3 and a good quality polish and then seal it with Auto balm might work but as previously stated if there is red on your cloth i'm afraid you have had it ! :(

She is called Jenny after Jenny Hanley of Magpie fame.My first car was a 1967 mini van which i got in 1978 when i was 19.I called her Jenny(i had a crush on ms Hanley) When we got the mog Mrs C suggested the name and the letters were 49p each from a motor factors near us,thanks for not changing her ...
