True. I saw the type you mentioned too, but they were like 10 times dearer...these worked OK = good bang for the buck.

I found drill bits made for drilling spot welds at a local store - and bought 3 of them in order to have a few spares. I´ve had two M151 A1 :s :-) - they came from Israel (IIRC) and Denmark, respectively. Both were NATO surplus and bought from a bulk surplus dealer in Holland. Cool stuff, apart from the front & rear ends (swing axles, just like VW Beetle). Lovely and comfortable "jeeps" IMHO. Cheers /R

That tinted front glass wouldn´t last one second here in Sweden. The cops would glue their "KÖRFÖRBUD" (not allowed to use/drive) sticker on it faster than you can blink. You´re lucky you´re not in the EU

Hmm. Both these require the chassis legs and surrounding metal to be strong. When changing those bits, the jig would be super handy, but with metal as strong as gingerbread--- Why not use the front crossmember as a fixture point instead? And maybe the wall between passenger seat backrest and boot? J...

1st pic - these are drilled holes in the outer panel. The light stuff shining thru is probably zinc primer on the opposite panel. 2nd pic - drilled holes welded-through to underlying/opposite panel, kind of spot weld if you like. Get yourself a slow (controllable) grinder and a semi-stiff backing disc that has 1cm of some foam plus a circle of Velcro glued to it. Then get some 125mm sanding discs with Velcro backing.
