I was hoping for the easier and quicker filter change, and yes it would now appear that I misplaced the baseplate at the last service dohhhh.

Thanks for the advice and support.

Spin on oil filter

Thought I'd go down the spin-on route, however, before I have a go, I presume it's simply a case of removal of the nuts and hose and extracting the bolts from the sump. The conversion has a double thread so is the extraction done by putting the two bolts on a single thread and extracting the bolt th...

The pump worked on the bench, all the parts are new, 3/16 pipe from bottle to pump and then to reducing T - 1/8 to jets. I thought it may be the length of the pipe, bought 8 feet, possible about 18 inches too long, I'll cut it down in the morning. Thought this would be one job that was straightforwa...

windscreen washers

Frustratingly I packed up this afternoon and went for a great drive in the sunshine through some lovely countryside around Eakring, Nottinghamshire. I should have been putting the parcel shelves back after successfully replacing the washer system. All new bits used except the pump which I got from t...

Thanks for the tips, sounds quite simple. My concern is that if it does not stop the leak, where could the water be entering from. The only other place I can see could be the wing beading between the wings and body shell. Does the beading seal the car or is it just decorative?

Replacing rear 1/4 light window rubbers on a 2 door

Hi Tracked down my leak to both rear window rubbers. Spent ages thinking I had a leak in the floor, that's now been eliminated by a helpful friend who pointed out (the obvious) that the water in the floor of the car was clean therefore it had to be the windows. Has anyone any tips as to the removal ...

Hi Quickly found this site following a purchase of a 1967 2 door olive green 1000 a couple of weeks ago. As a non technical person who is keen to learn, I quickly realised the benifits of membership. I was looking throught he documents supplied this morning and found the previous MOT from 1992. Sinc...

Mansfield Branch

Hi

Just bought my second minor, sold the first in 1986 and regretted it ever since. Saw there is a new branch in the Mansfield area and wondered when the next meeting will be held.
