Topic: servo on rear drums as well as front discs???

Hi I agree with simmitc that you should use the servo on all the brakes eg front and rear. This how mine is set up and it works great. The balance between front and rear is just about right, even under heavy braking. Hope this helps Pat.

Top advice, thank you, I just have to wait for the head to turn up (pos friday) and then set to reconning it and away I go. I also had a look at the back plate on my 1098 and there's nothing to be done to that but the water pump will need a bit of a file. Then we have the fun of putting the rockers ...

Hi it may be the sender not working correctly. Is there a resitance when you swing through it to earth with a multimeter. If not and it is closed circuit it's must likely broken. One other thing might be the reason, is you car changed over to -ve earth. Hope this is of help Pat.

Hi, if you go to mgm they have an info database. There are tree blue colours listed depending on the trim colour and when the car was registered in 1970. When you think you have the right colour you could go to Halfords and they can mix up a spray can in that colour so you can test it out. Hope this...

Well jim there is a disc conversion with vented discs and 4 or 6 pot calippers but I can't remember where I saw it sorry. If you find and choose to fit it that would give you some real mans brakes. As far as I can tell some disc kits use ally hubs and others steel, this may explane the differance in...

If you're going to get it machined, it's possible to get this done at the same time as having unleaded seats put in Hi, just bought a 12G940 head on ebay for £26 (sorry if I out bid anyone). It has already got unleaded seats as it is off a late Metro. How can you tell if the valves need sinking in ...

Pat - you need to sink the exhaust valves into the head by 40 thou - and then follow this thread.
Thanks sounds simple enough I will have a go when I can get hold of a 12G940 head.

Hi I didn't think the 1300 head fitted the smaller block A series engines(948/1098) without mods to the block. Have you had these done and if so what was done? Sorry can't help with the clearance as my moggie has a cable type valve but will measure if it's any help.

Just a thought on the brake pipe thing. You could have a goodridge hose made up with the standard morris 3/8unf fitting on one end and a banjo on the other. That way it would move the flexi away from the steering arm and the threads would match. I would hate for you to be driving along and have to b...
