Re: Putting all the Traveller rear bits back on!!
Thanks, yes! I have the manual and one guide to date and looking for at least one more. I will see if I can locate the practical classics one ( would appreciate its name to aid location) and also any others which specifically deal with Traveller back end issues!

Putting all the Traveller rear bits back on!!
So my traveller came with everything removed from the rear and new timber except a couple of bits where members are helping me with. It is a bit of a jigsaw getting it back together. My approach is to loose fit things as I go along, scratch head, and consider getting the whole thing on. Is there mer...

drag and drop a photo
20260417_194815.jpg Trying desperately to learn how to upload photos either direct from camera or from the image sent from camera to my PC I tried using the Attachment button and found the photo and was asked to 'place inline' but no photo. Do I have to 'pair my phone using the QR code? I tried dra...

Re: Traveller rear base rail
Thanks to everyone we are progressing. I found a cross member that the previous owner had started to make, I got the correct measurements and made the end joints, I temporally fitted it ( need to make the bottom rails and the blocks to hold them together). I was about add a pic and a related questio...

Re: Traveller rear base rail
Marvellous thank you. I found the old part from the scrap rear woodwork. it had been repaired at each end and was still rotten! I also found my IROKO plank which is just thick enough to remake the top part. It would be great if I could confirm the measurement between the insides of the 2 rear posts,...

Re: Traveller rear base rail
Thanks for the response !! 'Ladder rack' is a good description !! I have no diagrams except what I can see on ESM and other sites, I guess it has some structural value by stiffening across the rear posts at their base? As you say it will be covered by the steel section which I believe is called the ...

Traveller rear base rail
I have new timber ready to fit but can't find the base rail. I have Iroko strip would from a yacht project of dimensions that would suit. Is this timber visible from outside the car? As the rail has to it into the rear posts I guess the side frames have to be fitted onto the end joints of the rail? ...

Re: Wiring to coil
Thanks guys. Issue resolved. the coil supply was via the non standard blue/black cable I referred to. It had failed, I could not discover just how this lead was supplied so, in the end just replaced with a lead direct from the 'correct' connection on the fuse box. Sounds simple but ( as you hinted) ...

Wiring to coil
My recently acquired Traveller started fine and ran well but the circuit controlling wipers, heater and flashers didn't work. It appeared that the fuse box connections needed a good spray and fine emery! They now work fine ! Great !! ( thanks Simmitc!) Alas the engine no longer works!! no spark at p...

Several items suddenly not working. Instant answer?
My restoration has a long way to go but I have been trying to ensure that the electrics are functioning in case any hard to get at items can be sorted while easy to get at. Several items worked 2 days ago and now don't I had hoped that some 'bright spark' would come up with a single fault explanatio...

Re: front seat base. refitting that rubber pipe !!
At least its not just me!! I did persevere and it all seems ok. The curved bits were the most difficult especially as there are inevitable folds in the vinyl. One small tip, in stretching the straps ,from me is to make one of the 'hems' which hold the wire connecter in place big enough to get a larg...

front seat base. refitting that rubber pipe !!
Managed to replace the webbing straps and foam thanks to your good advice !! ( and my wife's assistance and forbearance !) Just refitting the cover and struggling with the rubber pipe which holds the seat base cover in a groove, Came out easy peasy !! My 84 year old arthritic hands are suffering and...

Re: fiting a seat diaphragm
When my driver's seat started to sag, some years ago, I tried the rubber diaphragm and had major issues getting it to fit. I resorted to the original webbing. I refurbished my front seats with new covers, padding and webbing etc., about four years ago. I think the webbing is just as good and easier...

fiting a seat diaphragm
Got my diaphragms and a bit disappointed by ESMs fitting instructions so I did an online search as well as looking here on the club site. It seems that no one has published a guide!! or I am not a very good searcher. I understand that I will have to drill some holes but I cant even be sure if its ju...

Treating repaired rear traveller wings
Our Traveller came with the back body removed but a new set of wood so it will be a journey of discovery getting it all back correctly !! I guess we will be doing a fair bit of loose fitting just to see where it all goes. Current issue is the rear wings. The ones that came were beyond repair so we b...

Best Rear lights 1969 traveller
My traveller came with the back dismantled but with new timbers. I was trying to understand how all the bits bolting on the rear fitted together and wanted to understand which bits of tail wiring went where. The iron work at the back seems massive for such a small vehicle but I will work through it ...

Re: Towing with an A frame
Thanks guys! I did search the site and found lots of conflicting information! Many comments referred to when we were in the EU ! I searched government sites and towing with an non braked A frame up to 750kg sounds legal. I thought the cost of the kit might be recovered If I had to make several to an...
