Using search first.

If I'd used the search facility last night I would have found out all I needed to know.
Thanks to all the, previous, posters for answering my questions before I'd even thought of them.

Which seats?

For the last week or so the 2-door has been my only transport.
Consequently I am now thinking about putting in some comfortable seats.
Are there a general views for which are the "best" or "easiest".
Looking forward to some suggestions.
Thanks.

Ignition switch replacement.

The thread on my ignition switch has worn to the point that the chrome nut fell off as I drove it last week. I got a replacement on fleabay and fitted it this evening. I was wondering how hard it would be to swap the barrels to let me use the two nice new keys I had recently had cut for the old swit...

I use an SIP handymig gasless. It suffers from terrible wire feed problems with SIP 0.8mm flux cored wire. However I bought some power craft 0.9mm flux cored wire from ALDI and changed the tip to a 0.9mm one, it now works a treat and the wire was cheaper too. When Aldi do their welders again this ye...

Sorry everyone, I was feeling full of Christmas cheer, having just finished work for the year, and the word crossmember seemed faintly amusing. It doesn't now, in the cold light of two days later. Still it gives me the chance to say Merry Cristmas & Happy new year to one and all. Steve :o...

I thought you meant silicone.
Which is a lubricant used for uphostery making when working with vinyl.
And probably loads of other things I know nothing of.

Carb cleaner and paint.

I know that you all know this already, but.
Don't get aerosol carb cleaner on your recently painted wings.
Don't say I didn't warn you.

One last check. If I want to enrich the mixture I turn the nut to the left as I look at it leaning over the nearside wing. Please tell me that's right.I mean correct. :D

Too rich, too lean?

Hi everyone, I've taken out one of my plugs to try to check the mixture. the electrodes are light brown but the ring around the bottom of the thread is black and sooty. It can't be both too rich and to lean, so what is your best guess? I have attempted to provide a link to a, blurry, picture. Thanks...

waxoyl spraying

I was using one of the small aerosol waxoyl tins but the probe was only about 40mm long. I cut a piece of electrical cable, the type used in domestic lighting circuits I think it is 1mm twin and earth, and pulled out the solid wire. I then had a probe long enough to do the chassis legs. Just pop it ...
