If you look further down this page you will find an old posting on this subject, I have just replaced mine in a 69 traveler and used a large socket that had a similar external size as the seal and used that with a rubber hamer to slowly drift it on. :) 8)

Just aded some new timber to our traveler, first put on about 6 coats of clear cuprinol then 6 coats of good yaght varnish lightly wet and dry between coats then sprayed with clear uv resistant lacquer, end result looks good, :) 8)

Joined in January bought the wife a traveller for christmas, found a fuel leak on the tank in jan took the tank out; then cut the rear floor out, then replaced nearside inner wing put in new floor bought new wood, starting to fit that, would show pics but dont know how to post them. should have just...

Drill & Bolster

I usually run a small hss drill through the middle then split with a sharp two inch wide bolster chisel, the drill removes the strongest part of the weld and the thin bolster separates the panels with minimum damage. (cheap drills from screw fix do the job around £1.50p for ten) 8)
