Rust removal, tips please

Hi all, total newbie here. I know that the rust you see is the tip of the iceberg, but where to start. None underneath, just around the wings etc. But how do you deal with it, what tools do you use, what 'potions' etc. What is the order of things? I.e how do i start? Can anyone recommend a book ect?...

Well after changing the gear in a service kit plus a coil and ht leads i went for a spin. Only half an hour mind but it was fine, refreshing to get home under my own steam so to speak. I run a bit of paper through the fuel pumps points but i have also ordered another set as they looked 'dodgy'...tal...

Rust patches...how to?

Hi all, new to this lark, just bought a great minor 1000, 4 door. No structural rust? But some little bits along door etc. Trouble is i have really no idea how to deal with it....how do i start? What do i do 1st, rub down using what? I really am a total novice....so advice on what equipment, product...

The car is a 1098 saloon, genuine 41000 miles and has good history, seems well maintained up to last 5 yrs when it has done limited mileage, too and from mot shop it would seem. So i am going to do as thorough a service as a novice can, it has a years mot and was 'born' 1967.

Hi all, just bought a mm, hasn't done long journeys in years. I drove it home from eastbourne to surrey. Newbie advice!

HI all. i have a small budget of £800, would love to buy a minor. Would that buy a 'running version'? Have no mechanical knowledge whatsoever but would love to spend time nursing one back to top health, is a minor suitable for a beginner, would farm out the tough jobs etc. Is there such a service wh...
