Yes I think it was just the tightness of the box. Now it's all together they seem about the same. The new box feels so much better than my knackered old 803 one. I will update you all in a few days after I've done a few journeys

Finally got the 1098 engine and converted gearbox in today!

Yes one either side of the spacer plate. I have had a squirt around with some oil and moved the lever around loads and it appears to have done the trick (I hope!). The box does feel much tighter than the 803 one but I guess it's quite a lot different. after moving the lever around I think I managed ...

This tightness is with or without the modded tail on. it felt a little tight when I got it with the proper remote tail. It does go into gear with some effort. perhaps spraying some oil about and exercising the forks back and forth could help? :/

Thanks for the replies! sounds like doing the modification to the ribcase with a spacer isn't too difficult then.
