Can someone recommend a place for me to get my front bumper re chromed?
It started as a couple of small patches but the winter salt has really taken it's toll on the chrome so I really should get round to sorting it out.
I can get the bumper taken to anywhere between gloucestershire and nottinghamshire (within reason) so if any one knows of a decent and reasonably priced place, let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Lewis

Re: Re chroming - Font bumper blade
My knowledge of English geography is, I'm afraid to say, appalling, even though I hail from there, but having Googled the three counties Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, I would say that possibly the latter mught fit the bill?
I have had some chroming done by a chap called David McFie who runs a business called Classics & Chrome Ltd, in Hinckley, Leicestershire, phone 01455 637921.
I have had grilles, windscreen surrounds, lowlight bumper blades and badges rechromed by him, and compared to many, his prices seem pretty good. I find the finish on the top surfaces to be excellent, though perhaps a blemish or two on the surfaces that aren't visible, especially if repairs have to be done ( as in some serious rust pits on the inside of my lowlight bumperblades.).
However, none of the items that I've had done have yet been fitted to a car and have been outside to withstand the elements, so please bear that in mind!!
Good chromeplaters are hard to find, and as such the prices can be pretty scary, but David seems pretty good to me, although time will tell when the bits are on the car!
Also speed is not, perhaps, his strongpoint!
You pays yer money and you takes yer choice!!
Good luck, and I've no doubt other chrome-platers will be recommended by others
