Tyre inflation
I have a 1969 2-door saloon. Can anyone suggest the correct inflation rate for the tyres please? A while ago, someone told me 30 psi for each tyre. Any other views?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Heated Front Winscreen
Thanks I'll check whether there's anything wrong with the wiring. I do have an alternator, so it should work ok.

Heated Front Winscreen
I recently had a heated windscreen and rear heated windscreen fitted. The rear windscreen is brilliant, definitely worth the money. The heated front windscreen is a bit useless. I wish I'd spent the money on a more powerful heater for the car itself.
Anyone had a similar experience?

'Push Heater' - what is it for?
Hi all, What does the 'push heater' or 'heater control valve' do? The handbook says, enigmatically, I think:- 'Push in the heater control valve knob on the fascia if a circulation of heated air is required'. Really grateful if someone can explain what it means. I don't understand so I don't touch it...

What does my insurance cover?
There is another thread on here about insurance, but I am starting a new one as my query is on a slightly different point. The other thread suggests that we should all be careful about using our Minors as a main car if we do not have another modern main car. Apparently, classic car insurance is mean...

Louise, thanks for posting. I just saw this on the Daily Mail website and was going to post it but you got there first. Really hope Mr Hepworth gets his Minor back.

Steamed up rear window
Hello all, I have had my Minor for 6 months now and am really loving it. One thing does worry me, though, now we are heading into winter. Does anyone else find it really difficult this time of year to drive without a heated rear window? The last few weeks the rear window has been really steamed up a...

Re: Ignition light permanently lit
Thanks, Chesney, that's brilliant. It's a 1969 saloon with a 1098 engine and it has a dynamo. I'll ask them and take the old one with me as you suggest.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: Ignition light permanently lit
Guys, thanks for your advice. The fan belt has indeed snapped. What do I do now if I can't drive the car? Should I just get one and fit it? Where do I get one? Will Halfords stock them or, if I mention a Morris Minor, will they look at me like I've landed from Mars ... ?

Re: Ignition light permanently lit
Thanks, guys. My garage can take a look at it on Friday (I have no idea what goes on under the bonnet so I leave it to the professionals)! Is it ok to drive for a few days - I go about 5 miles to work and back? Is it going suddenly to cut out on me ??
Grateful for your advice.
Cheers,
Matt

Ignition light permanently lit
Hello, I was driving the Minor this morning and, for no apparent reason, the ignition light came on and stayed on. I stopped the engine and started again. The ignition light came on and stayed on (instead of fading out after a few seconds). I guess this could be an electrical fault, but any other su...

Head light features that look like eyelids??
Some minors have a curious (but very pleasing) feature where they have a sort of partial cover over the headlamps that look a bit like eyelids. The white traveller on the home page of this site has this feature. What is this called and where can I get them?
Thanks,
Matt
