Ah brilliant!
Ivy had the light socket fitted when new along with some other goodies. Just getting together everything she would have had as she left the forecourt :)

Parking lights??

Hi everyone, After buying Ivy last year, we've been looking into a socket she has under the drivers glovebox next to the ammeter. We came to the conclusion it was for a parking light that hooks onto the top of the drivers side window .... We eventually found one on eBay but it was missing the pin co...

Washing without rinsing!

Hi everyone.. Just thought i'd share a new car shampoo i've found.... :) If like me, you wince everytime you put water near your car (I'm a bit too protective i think) i have found a new way of cleaning without flooding the car, and subsequently the sills with water.... when you rinse following wash...

Re: Low idle too Low

Been out to have a look at the carb... was relly easy to fix. All it was in the end was a build up of grease and muck that was hindering the the screw to return to just sit on the cam. All fully cleaned and oiled and working beautifully. Goes to show the engine needs just as much to be kept clean as...

Re: Low idle too Low

Thanks for the replies.... yep she's always run for 20 mins or so so should be fine. I'll have a tweak about with the carb and see if it helps. I think i may have been a little vague in my description of the problem. The main issue, is that even with the choke, i'm needing to up the revs with the ac...

Low idle too Low

Hi all, Slight conundrum i wonder if someone can help. I've been starting Ivy up over the last few cold months whilst she's tucked away for the winter, to keep things moving. She starts first time everytime, with the choke out, however, even with the choke pulled out at varying positions she still s...

Re: Rocker Cover refurb and fitting

Actually, the paint and powdercoat was a called in favour from my father who runs an engineering company. However, from experience, I would have thought it would cost around £20 incl. Black is a common colour, so won't need to be bought in. It takes seconds to do (not including baking)....

Well after a little delay the cover is ready to go back on (once the silicone has set overnight...)

I think it looks pretty good and should make a difference in the bay... Airfilter housing has been powder coated black as well... :)

Rocker Cover refurb and fitting

Hi all, As the winter is setting in Ivy is tucked away for her first scottish winter. I'm taking the opportunity to spruce up the engine bit by bit until i get more confident. I have removed the rocker cover and old heavily cracked and compressed cork gasket. The cover has been bead blasted, degreas...

Storage in shipping Container?

Hi All, Quick Q. I've recently been offered the opportunity to store Ivy in a shipping container. Vermin free and apparently has anti condensation paint (never heard of that before). This at a cost of £100 a month... Shes's currently kept in a covered barn under her own fitted cover. The barn is ope...

A 3/4 whitworth box spanner ts the way to go! I've just replaced the indicator stalk, glovebox lining and fitted a new steering wheel as well! It took a few attempts to get the wheel set correctly again afterwards! It maybe worth disconnecting the battery as well save annoying the neighbours with th...

Re: Trickle Charging A high days and holidays battery?

Thanks for the replies! The solar panel sounds like a great idea, however the car is kept inside an old cow shed of all places, so isn't in direct sunlight. I've ordered a Draper trickle charger and at the moment my plan is to remove the battery over the winter and just occasionally put the battery ...
