Series II Split Windscreen Question

Hello everyone. I wonder if anyone would be able to offer some advice please on the matter of the 4 little "screws" that secure the split screen centre bar on the Series II minors (I should imagine the MM series as well). It appears that these items are truely one of the few parts that are...

Series 2 Gearbox

Hi everyone Hoping that I may be able to get some advice in relation to my series 2 and gearboxes. I currently have a 1955 series 2 (The Count) which has a 948 engine and a 4.22 diff in it, it also has the original series 2 gearbox in it which is getting a bit tired. What I'm after is opinion please...

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi again everyone Just an update, I have managed to make up for some lost time as the Count is now in Melbourne and we have spent some quality time together, spent two months driving around Australia and over all went brilliantly, with one flat tyre and a clutch plate needing replacing 3/4 the way a...

Re: Window mechanism

Thanks very much Boomlander, much appreciated. I took the door panels off both drivers and passengers and it looks like the passenger side mechanism has a bit of a bend that the drivers doesn't, this seems to be the culprit I think. Have managed to get it apart but not out of the door as I will need...

Window mechanism

Hi there everyone Wonder if someone may be able to offer some advice. I've now got my car back and am hopefully getting a roadworthy inspection done on Friday, but I've a bit of a problem with the front passenger door window mechanism / lock mechanism. Basically what is happening is when the window ...

Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

Congratulations on getting yourself such a good project and even better a 55 split screen, better yet a four door too! They are such fine beasts, mind when you get to the time to reinstall the windscreen (presuming you'll be removing it) please be sure to post how you go about it. It was a pig of a ...

Re: thecount in the air

To be honest with you, I actually don't recall which company I bought the slaves from now (it was somewhere in the UK but that gives very wide scope of places), I bought them about 5 years ago, but they are definitely a larger casting in the mount for the shoe area when compared visually to the orig...

thecount in the air

Hi there everyone Just thought this was a good unusual view of my car that may be of interest. It's wheel-less and in the air awaiting new brakes (slaves, shoes and flex hoses). I bought a new set of each and fitted them up without a problem, but unfortunately while they fit and all looks good there...

Re: An exciting day

Hey Stag

Congratulation on a great mile stone, very exciting times.

Sounds like it might not have been a great stress relief, but I bet you know how to weld up a treat by now!

It's all worth it in the end though isn't it!

Cheers

Re: Restoration Almond Green Traveller 1961 Update Photo`s.

Hi there Your Traveller looks a treat, what a fantastic job! Must say that I think the wheels look fantastic on the car, they look brilliant of all Minors though IMHO. They really look great with the colour and timber. In the end no matter what anyone else's opinion may be, it's your car and if it m...

Hey Gabriel

Fantastic, inspiring work your doing there! Really like the powder coating system for the wheels, may have to look into that for mine I think. Hopefully it's not too long before you can drive it :)

Hey Fin The cars looking great, you've done an excellent job getting it going there. I find with mine that no matter how much you do there is always something that need a bit of adjusting, or a good sharp tap with a stick, to set it going again, part of the attraction I guess :D I guess once you've ...

Series 2 Parcel Tray

Hi there everyone Wondering if someone may be able to help me out please. I have not been able to locate a replacement for the main support bar of the parcel tray that is unfortunately missing from my car, so have decided that it would probably be better to have one made as it s a simple enough piec...

Re: SPEEDO QUESTION

Great map! Yeah a wee 27 hour drive is nothing but a shake down run really, as a kid the family used to drive from Melbourne to Mackay in North Queensland regularly, so I guess you get used to "small" trips like that. I t's only inconvenient when you actually want to do a quick bit or work...
