Re: Pickup restoration part three
Hi David I have been watching this thread from the beginning and can no longer resist making a comment! I think your enthusiasm and dedication is quite inspirational and I'm sure most (well me anyway) would have given up by now! Well done but I worry what I will read every day when you've finished! ...

Re: leather restoration materials
I have used one of the kits to restore/revive the leather seats and console in my E-type jag. The one I used is the one you see at all the shows in the midlands - leather forever who are supplied (I think) by furniture clinic I was a bit sceptical/worried before using it since I didn't expect it to ...

Re: Tyre sizes for 4 1/2J Van wheels
I've just put the Toyo 155*80's on mine and am happy with them. I looked at 165's but my wheels are LP917's and with 155's the front's are as close to the Kingpins as I would want to go

Re: pickup restoration project
David I too very much hope that you ignore the advice from Mr Perfect and keep posting! I have been involved with classics for about 35 years and still didn't have the courage to do a restoration. I chickened out and bought a "fully restored" van but through reading articles such as yours,...

Re: Poor quality battery cut out switches
I had exactly the same problem with one purchased at Bath show last year. I asked a couple of other sellers where they got their supplies from at later jumbles and there was a common reply. Probably shouldn't say who supplied but rodent explains it!

Kick plate fixings
Hi Please can somebody tell me if I'm right in thinking there should be self tappers fixing the top edge of the kick plates against/to the top of the sills? If so, how many and what measurements across top and do they actually go into the inner sill or just act against it to anchor the kick plate I ...

Re: Voltage Stabiliser
PC have pushed their luck a bit. If you do use an IC regulator, make sure you put a capacitor across i/p to gnd and o/p to gnd to avoid oscillation

Re: Wiper wheel box
Thanks all - it was the splines that the wiper fits on that were worn. Anyway job is done now - not as bad as I expected if a little greasy! Also pleased with decent Bullmotif parts after a couple of false starts with wrong items advertised on Ebay!
One down, plenty more to go!

Re: Wiper wheel box
Thanks David
I was hoping there was a simpler answer. It's the passenger side that's worn so now I'll have to get at the driver's side too!

Wiper wheel box
Hi
I have a worn wiper spindle on my '69 van and have purchased new wheel box. How do I change it?! It seems it's not possible to simply pull the existing wheel box off the cable so before I strip the whole lot out I thought I would seek advice
Can anyone please advise on how to do this?
Thanks
Martin
