Glovebox Lid
Can anyone offer dvice as to how to keep the glovebox lid from falling open when travelling. (1966 Saloon)
I have cleaned the plate on the lid and fitted a better magnet but it still falls?
any one got any mods?

mine kept falling open when u close the passenger door.. I found that by slackening the nuts that hold the hinges on and moving it around a bit solved the problem.
Good luck!

It should be possible, with a good magnet there to get it into a position where it doesn't fall open - as picky says - you might need to undo the screws on the hinges and move the door a bit...

The glovebox shouldn't fall open whilst driving... If you've changed the magnet and it's making a good connection, it may be worthwhile spending an hour or so to adjust the hinges and the magnet locating screws, so that it fits just a little tighter.
Is there a metal plate that the magnet is supposed to attract on the later cars, or does it just attract the metal of the lid?
Note to other posters: can we try and keep threads 'on topic' please?
