Could anyone tell me what ratio diff a van should have as standard?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Series 2 vehicles used the 5.375-1 ratio. The later series 3 and the 6cwt
and 8 cwt models used the 4.55-1.

Thanks Willie.
Given that the van is never going to be used to lug heavy loads anymore would I be better putting in a 4.22 to 1 diff?
I guess it won't set off quite so eagerly but will rev less throughout the gears?

Cheers

you wouldn't be the first person to do that. However you will also need to change the speedo. The easiest way is to get diff and speedo from a 1098 car.

if you want to source the parts seperately, this link is a good source of info:
