Steve,
The units you have will not take a standard halogen bulb and i am not aware of any bulbs that have been manufactured to fit. There are some makes of halogen headlamps that do have the same curved profile as the sealed beam / standard Minor units. I would personally go for the halogen units as the bulb one's are not that good outside a street lit area!

No problem! I will find out the make of the units i fitted to my sisters Minor next time i see her as the lens has the same curve (from the side) and a similar pattern to the lucas sealed beam units. I don't think i have any spare units with the same lens though! Sorry.

You can get halogen non-sealed bulb reflector / lenses which are curved and look virtually no different to the original lights, rather than those slightly odd flat-faced lenses...
If I've followed what you're after correctly(!); mine cost, I think, 12 quid each from a local autofactor...

You can buy BPF Halogen bulbs from
Holden Vintage and Classic and the recently discovered
Vintage Cars and Classic Motor Spares. These might be what you're after...

But these reflectors look well rusted - better get new ones and bulbs to suit them rather than waste money on bulbs for these old things!

But the rust from the back will very quickly burn through to the inside - more or less as soon as they get wet on the car ! Waste of money to get the special bulbs for these. Also not sure that the 'pattern' in the glass will be suitable for haolgen bulb - may get a lot of scatter and dazzle for oncoming traffic.

Good point, my friends find it 'uncomfortable' for me to follow them at night even though my halogens are properly aligned, maybe i should dip them

I know it's a personal thing but I've never had a problem seeing with the standard output of the sealed beam units, even when it's pitch black and no street lamps.
