Ciao,

I just got a distributor for 948cc engine. It has, over the plastic cover, even a rubber cover. I tried to see in some pics and some catalogues of spares if it is original or not but did not find any pic with such a rubber cover.
Can someone of you tell me something about?

Many thanks,
Luca

Minis usually had the rubber cover over the dizzy as it was at the front of the car in those & susceptible to water.

Thanks Scott! It means that the distributor I got won't fit into a 1957 Morris Minor but it belongs just to Minis model, right?

The distributor should fit OK. They're basically the same engine, just the Mini one is fitted incorrectly  (east/west).

The advance curve might be set up differently than the correct type for a 948cc engine but I doubt you'll notice a difference.
