The Midget gearbox is supposed to be a bit stronger than the minor one, but best to use a minor flywheel and clutch as its a bit bigger than the Midget one and therefore a bit longer lasting, if you currently have a minor box it should be a straight swop if I remember.

The 1275 gearbox has needle rollers instead of plain bushes on the layshaft. and it has better spaced ratios ( First gear is higher) and I think you will have to change the cltch release arm over.

I'm pretty sure the standard Minor gearbox (series II onwards) has roller bearings on the layshaft due to the lateral loading forces.
Perhaps some other bronze bush is replaced with a needle roller type?
They ARE supposed to be stronger though. 1st and 2nd gear have a taller ratio, 3rd is pretty close and 4th is identical.

The taller first gear probably makes it stronger just by reducing side loads (weakest design area of a box is often 1st gear, just down to the loadings)
