quarter lights

Post by johnm »

The catch on the drivers side quarter light is loose and so there's water ingress through the seal

Is the catch held on with a screw and if so I presume I have to prize the glass out to tighten it up again?

Any tips appreciated as always

Unfortunately, it's riveted in place.
They usually don't come loose. They're either on of they've broken off.
Are the seals OK ? Has the striker plate (the part the catch holds against) worn ?
There's a small cup washer that sits against the catch - has this broken & fallen out ?

The quarter windows gerenally aren't too water tight if water is sprayed directly at them.

The same thing has happened to me. I've just taped up the quarter light as a tempoary measure until I can get a new pair.
