Anybody knows where I could get hold of a set of piston rings having chromed topmost rings?

Apparently these are better for sliding up and down the bore....any comments?

You might have opened a hornets nest of views on this subject, I was always led to believe that a bit of friction is required to enable a better seal with the bore and oil otherwise when a block is rebored why is it cross hatched to give a rougher finish to enable things to bed in, my explanation is not ideal but no doubt someone will give the ideal explanation.

Try your local motor factors.

Regarding the x-hatch in the piston bores - from what I've been told, if the angle isn't within the correct parameters (to shallow or too great) then the it will either burn to much oil or be too noisy.
