Door locks, 2 door saloon

Post by millerman »

I'm stripping down a 2-door passenger door. Everything going well BUT how do you remove the lock? It looks as though the interior locking lever has to be removed....................... Advice please

If I remember correctly you have to remove window frame to remove lock.

With the door on the work bench not too bad a job but I'm having the problem with getting the passenger door lock off. It seems as tho the interior locking lever needs to be removed when it would then be the same as the driver's door and come apart easily.

Cheers all

you need a small jewlers screw driver or pin . some where on the interior lever there is a pin that you need to release. i cant remember 100% but the locking device is there somewhere on the little grey levers barrel

If you remove the handle from the outside(take pin out),remove bar connecting the interior handle, unscrew three screws attaching lock to door, this should make it loose within the door. push in catch until inside door, it should with a little help come out and drop down enough to take out of the door. This is what I did last week so I know what problems your having!

james its not necessary to take the chrome door handle out by removing the pin, they can be removered as long as the door handle is in the unlocked possition. i ve got loads of them in a box all with the door handle still in place.
