Just seen these for sale on ebay bit expensive but I think a a good idea to fit one.

Not a serious problem on Minors - much more important on Minis where the gears are mashing about in the oil, shredding metal as they go. Very unlikely to get much magnetic swarf in a Minor engine - until The End is near !

You're right BMC, I remember from when I had Leyland FWD cars- gears sharing the oil with engine- no wonder they wore out quicker than RWD BMC stuff, but I'll see how much swarf is collected at the next oil change, should be interesting as I fitted an ESM magnetic plug at the last change.
