Hi,
No I am not a 'proffesional trader' . I am a classic car enthusiast having owned Mg's and currently restoring a '68 Beetle. I have contacts with a supplier of welding helmets after purchasing one for myself and two for friends, of which I have used for about six months and found to be very good indeed. I am looking to pass on the welding helmets to other classic enthusiasts with similar interests at a very reasonable price instead of the grossly inflated prices charged by other 'outlets'. I have approached a number of car clubs who have been very interested. Sorry if I have offended anyone as it seems ! As to the question about my interest in Morris minors i have a general interest in all classics and the whole restoration scene in general

Presumably these are battery rather than "solar" powered, if so how long do the batteries last ie. welding time and in the event of a warrenty claim who would the purchaser go to?

Au contraire - not in the least 'offended', but a bit sick of people crashing the site for commercial gain. It would be worth pointing out who you are before posting this sort of thing

Ok well I will have both battery powered and solar powered available. The purchase price to me is very similar so I can offer them at the same price (£ 35.00 +p&p). The battery powered helmet is powered by a small 'penlight type battery' . Regarding battery life I have used the same battery for about 3 months and it is still good. However admittedly ,I do only weld occasionally and I remove the battery if im not welding for a week or so so I wouldn't like to give a precise time. Obviously this is not a problem with the solar type - simply leave them in the light for a couple of hours before welding and should be fine.
Regarding problems i would sort out a replacement helmet , failing this i would give a refund.

Just thought I would post an update on this , usual disclaimer - no connection only a 'customer' - I have just purchased three of these from Chris - (may seem excessive(!) but I have a team of teenagers working on at 56 four door. - I committed to purchase this week - paid him by Paypal on Thursday & they arrived today (Saturday) by recorded post & very well packed. They work a treat - just needed two AA cells (these are the solar type so seem to only use batteries as 'backup') had a good look at them & am 'well pleased'.
