Fitting a new pair of those hockey stick things..

Post by Tris »

OK I was bought a new pair of these hockey stick shaped bits to go on each side of the grill and I have next to no idea how to fit them! :-?

Sorry if this sounds kinda pathetic but my family morris expert is conveniently on holiday again

Where should I start?

Thanks, Tris

They are held on by 3 2BA bolts. Look inside the front of the front wing and hopefully you should be able to see them.... undo them take hockey stick off put new one on and do up bolts

By removing the old ones - it's very fiddly and hard to see, but there are 3 nuts each side that you can get at by reaching inside the wing, you may need to remove the wheel. They're small and the stud that they bolt onto is VERY likely to sheer :( Then it's obvious how to put the new ones on - I'd smear the studs with copper grease to try and stop them seizing again, in case of a 'next time'.

Hockey sticks

It is advisable to fit them using 2BA Nylon nuts to avoid future troubles. Your
new ones may have been supplied with these.
