hey cam, just phoned RAC, they can do em for £75, which i think is good seeing as they would cut new glass if they broke it, gotta get it 20 miles to canterbury, steve

Steve, that's good then!
Hang on though, is my mind playing tricks or do the RAC own autoglass or something like that?

Done a few of these now and each one varies! First one was 3 days, next was 45 minutes, the one after that took 2 days and the last one was in within half an hour! Luck of the draw really!

Had loads and still got some! At present we have 3 lowlights (2 saloons and one tourer) 1 highlight mm 2 door saloon and an early grille 4 door saloon. I have recently sold my early grille van but it did need a lot of work! 2 of the lowlights are roadworthy (taxed and MOT'ed) as is the early series 2 4 door, but all the others are "awaiting restoration"! Did you attend the national rally last year (2005)? If so do you remember the lowlight tourer that was up for sale? Thats the one i now have!

Dry stored then, thats good! Had a look at your pictures of your lowlight and it looks pretty good for its age. As for pictures, i have been reading elsewhere on here about how to load them up on this site and for a computer illiterate like me it sounds like hard work! I only have pictures of the tourer on my pc as i haven't had much time to get digital photo's of the others yet! Too busy trying to keep the rest of the mog's on the road!

its a difficult job taking at least 2 poeple and a lot of skill to fit it without damage to the rubber, car body, glass or your fingers.
i got the RAC to do mine and it took 2 hours some cups of tea, and it was a perfect job, for £30 in london. well worth it.
if you have the chrome insert i belive that it must be fitted as one with the screen, and not after. i missed that bit when mine was done.

The chrome is fitted after the screen is in on the split screens.
It's on the '56-62 1000s that it needs to be fitted first.
