You need the sidelight!
Mini headlights have a sidelight built in

But they will be too big to fit the Lowlight grille.

Hello SR,
yes and no, Yes I have done it but not on a Minor. There should be no difficulty in re routing the side light feed to the headlamp area and connecting to the integral side light.
Incidentally I did it so that I could use sidelights only and still be seen on those wet dreary days. I find that there is too much dazzle when dipped headlights are used and all you see are headlights and little of anything else in the background.

SR, the mini lamps have a little 'window' in them. The sidelight holder is part of the lamp connector plug on the Mini so be sure to get that bit too and not just the lamps.

Yup - I'd agree with Cam. I was changing the headlamps around on my two last week and noticed that Carrie had headlamps with a socket you could put a sidelight in if you wanted to. Are you planning on turning the current sidelight bulb holes into indicators then?

Why orange? You could stick with the clar lenses, and put an orange bulb in it.
I use my sidelights as indicators as well as sidelights.

True, that never was my point of interest, even though the clear lense/ orange bulb is actually quite bright and visible

Steve, so you don't fancy the system that's used on the series III/Series V crossover cars (like Gracie) - the white sidelights that have a stop/tail light in them so they are on sidelight and glowing then they flash bright for indicators. They flash white though which is perfectly legal on my car and I wouldimagine yours too as it says pre-65 which both ours are!

that is the system I am using. I must admit, there are more clear ways of indicating.

sounds ok cam, but the main reason for domed trav lens is so it can be seen from the side view at a junction sort of thing
