www.wonky windsreen wipers

Post by Blunt »

The windscreen wipers on the van packed up on Saturday on the way to a job...I flicked em on, and they wiped once, stopping in the upright position :-?
I managed to help them back to the 'rest' position, but each time I switch them on they only get to upright.

it wasn't too bad in the daylight, but coming home at night was dodgy...luckily I could cut cross-country using lanes, where I didn't meet many oncoming cars...I was saving my 1 wipe for emergency use

Obviously something has worn out...question is...what?

would it be the motor, or the wheelbox...or something else?

Ideas please :D

hardended grease in the wheel box? try taking the cover off, remove as much of the old grease as you can and repack it? you might see if there is another problem then too

sorted now :D

when I checked the grease I found that the cable sheath nut had come undone.

I'ts much easier in a well lit garage than on a rainy night at the roadside

I replaced the grease btw 8)
