does anyone have a clue as to what thse slots could do on a Minor? They are on the B-post, on both sides, the slot at the top, two holes beneath.

Any thoughts greatly appriciated!

???? :o I've looked at numerous pictures of 2-door series MMs in several books and there is nothing there but the post.

Could it be an aperture to hang a reflector?

Thanks for the thought. I think the apertures must have done something electricly, hence the aperture, so I am thinking they were flashing indicators of some sort

They are very ragged holes, look to me as though they were made by the
teeth of a lifting crane at a breakers yard?

... or belted in with a bolster chisel.

I'd go with Cam's opinion, given that they're (I guess the one the other side is the same?) central in the pillar, and seem to have a screw hole beneath them.

A cold chisel. Don't know if that translates either, I'll try and find a pic of one. It can also mean a big pillow, the entire width of the bed, BTW :D

There's one here - http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department ... 20cold.jpg

Well, I was thinking more of this type (bolster):

As it tended to be what a lot of people had lying around years ago as they are very useful for brick work. But any type of cold chisel I guess.

I was going to put one of them up - it's what I'd call a bolster as opposed to a cold chisel - but couldn't see how it could've made the hole :-)

Put the chisel at 45 degrees to the pilar on the edge of the pillar and give it a couple of good whacks and it will open the pillar up.

I see what you mean though, were you thinking of the smaller cold chisel straight on? I doubt they would have done that as it could damage (push in) the pillar a bit with direct force. The anged approach works a lot better. Who knows though?

I guessed a hole drilled and enlarged with the smaller one at 45 degrees! It really doesn't matter though :D

Ño, it doesn't. Maybe I'll lead-load it. I'd better go ask Sam Heath, who I sopke to the other day, he is doing very well, very busy at the moment, his car is due to be ready in about two months.

It appears to me that someone has made a crude attempt to fit a roof rack or advert board

Do people put roof racks on moggys??

Yes, roof racks are available for moggies - there's a company who often advertises them on the back page of Minor Matters. I think they clamp around the gutters, though, so this would seem a very strange place to try and mount one.
