Wiring Loom
Before I start making a custom loom for the morris minor....
Can you by them pre-colour coded and ready to install...
The existing wiring loom has been hacked and cut into so many times, and has had the insulation shredded and is generally beyond my acceptable level of wear...

Not cheap but a lot easier than making your own

i purchased one for my van and these are my conclusions.
the colour and braiding is right, lengths are right.
now the problem comes with the speedo light bulb holders, these are so rubbishy made that in a lot of the holders the bulbs are near impossible to put in and they fall apart as well.
also they do not hold properly in the back of the speedo, so the answer was to cut the original ones and join these on using heatshrink and solder to the new loom, works well.
so for the price loom ok and let down again by shoddy bulb holderss, mine came from esm

i did mention this point to esm , and afraid it fell on deaf ears.
if i want another i would go some where else, unless they are made by the same company, which i would have thought is close to the truth, as we all no with all the modern cr@p there are only a few suppliers.
jonathon i beleive has a contact for looms

its not that much of a big deal, 4 bullit connectors and 2 one way joiners and 5 minutes work to fix, if there was a better one on the market certainly but its not the end of the world!!

try this site http://www.vintagecarparts.co.uk/en/161 ... m-details/
ok it is true it is not the end of the world and it can be got over, but heck why should we.
we pay for something and do not get the goods we want.
so again i would pay a bit more and lets have it right.
would we pay for a video recorder and when there is something wrong we put it right, i do not think so.
so again suppliers should take note and manufactureres we are getting really pis@@d off with this and other parts we buy.
there seems to be something wrong with most of the repro products we are buying

i trhink there should be a poll for this, i would pay a little more to have things right, ie if i buy a loom and want to put the bulbs in then that is what i want to do and not to change teh ends with my old wiring loom.
i want chrome to last longer than one winter.
i want to buy and bolt on and not reshape

Hmmm, not exactly what I was expecting...
So I'm going to reloom the car myself, gives me the oppurtunity to upgrade all the components, putting fuse boxes in, master and secondary fuse systems....
For the cost of the cabling, I would rather do it myself and know that it was done correctly......
Thanks anyway guys

i know where you are coming from steve.
i bought some new repro light rims and the same thing happened on a van i had a few years ago.
on my van now i have the original chrome and after 2 winters still as shiny and pit free as ever.
i would seriously consider taking the bumper back and suggesting they got it rechromed.

to save grief with libel, we could have a section "not happy" where a pic of the offending item would be posted with the text, this item is "so" old, then its up to an indiviual to ask where it came from, this shoddy workmanship/quality issue needs to be sorted
