What ever happened to "Babalou"?

I was searching through my local newspaper's archive on-line today and entered the words Morris Minor (as you do). It came up with this sad story from May 17th 2000 about an 84-year-old man who had his Moggie set fire to by vandals. He had owned "Babalou" since 1969 and was very attached to it. The story reports that he planned to get it back on the road as it was only the front end which was damaged. Does anyone know whether he did?

The story can be found here:

There's a few bits of HTML gibberish at the top of the page, but scroll down and you will find the story.

Poor chap! hope he saved her. Some people really need to be locked up, shouldn't they.

Well good luck but as the fire happened more than 5 1/2 years ago the car / owner may not be around any more
