can you let me know what sort of nuts and bolts are used on the morris minor ?

i know it seems a daft question, but everytime i start doing something on it i dont seem to have a spanner to fit !! - i have spanners and sockets in metric and imperial, but some of the nuts seem to be in between !! - could you let us know about AF, whitworth, BNF, UNF etc its quite confusing and i think thats why im doing damage to some of them in the process

thanks

spanners

Lo, most of the fittings will be suited to a set of AF spanners.
There are one or two Whitworth items(BSW) and possibly
BSF too but the AF set is the vital one. The older types of spanners
will be found at boot sales etc. What you should include in your
kit is a GOOD quality adjustable spanner for the odd ones which
seem to fit nothing you own.

This was discussed previously in some detail.

Have a look at:

Hope this helps.

i'll get my tool kit up to date, one in particular is the small bolt that holds the front brake cylinders to the backplate (they have a larger one and a small one) i tried spanners from everywhere - it seems like its a 1/3 " - it took me nearly three months and then when id finally sorted it out and changed the cylinder, the car died !!!
