On the speedometer of my 67 2-door.

The bottom two, are the handbrake, and the ignition (currently threatens to glow red every time I try to have the little b.. run at idle ), can someone please tell me what the ones at 10 o-clock and 2 o-clock are?

The ones I can think of are:

Ign (red)
Main Beam (blue)
Oil pressure (amber)
Oil fiter (amber)

Green would be indicator, but I don't know if any Minor ever had that as there's a bulb on the stalk.

Not seen any sign of a handbrake one wired up as standard though? Also not sure if the oil filter one is on every car - I'm going by the loom I pulled out a box and fitted, the other looms and bits of in boxes, and the wiring diagram so my info might not be 100% accurate.

The one in the eight o-clock position is dark blue and labelled "H/B". the ignition one is at 4 o-clock and labelled 2IFN". The other two I think are bot hamber.

oh pooh. That's labelled "IGN".

IGN - Ignition ;)
H/B - High Beam, or Main beam as I think most people call it (I know I do!)

Leaving the 2 ambers for oil pressure, and oil filter. I don't know about the oil filter one, I think it's only meant to ever come on when the filter is blocked up, but the pressure one should come on when you first turn the ignition on, and go out no more than a second or two after the engine has started. It shouldn't come back on with the engine running, if it does you've got problems!

Oh, the filter one also might not be connected, it seems not all filter housings have the switch/ terminal, certainly the one on the pickup doesn't

If the oil pressure one isn't coming on at all, it could be bulb, switch or wiring. Switch or bulb are most likely, but I had to replace the wire on the pickup the other day...

Forgot to say, the H/B should come on when you use main beam - Either you never use it, or the light's not working

What, Full Beam, you mean?

I don't call it that! Or high beam or main beam...

Aha - you're the Anglophile, you're going to have to decide on the important things, like what you call full beam and what you call the indicators - Flashers? Winkers? Blinkers? It's a whole new world of odd names!

Just remembered - was driving my Mother the other day when she made some (back seat driver) comment about my 'winkers'. It took ages to convince her that I didn't know what she was talking about...

I call my high beam Groot licht. And I call my indicators knipperlichten.

I was referring to dutch you know.

But to be conclusive, I use High beam and dipped beam. Because I have splitscreens

Ok, I think we've got it covered now, but just in case:

red lamp = ignition warning lamp
blue lamp = high beam / dipped beam warning lamp
right hand side orange lamp = low oil pressure warning lamp
left hand side orange lamp = oil filter blocked warning lamp

Ah, you'll be looking for the footswitch then sir; you'll find it located a little to the left of the clutch and sliiiightly up.

Press that when you've got your lights on dipped beam and you'll (hopefully) discover the startling power of a Morris Minor's full beam

You switch the headlights with the left foot on the metal knob just to the left of the clutch pedal. The main beam (blue) warning light must be working for an MOT pass. There is no handbrake light - and if either of the two orange lights come on when running you have problems.

Ooooh, good game My turn - It's the metal foot switch just to the left of the clutch!

I switch my headlights on using a dash mounted three way switch, thta is OFF-SIDE LIGHTS- MAIN BEAM

If I then press the metal floor mounted switch I get my HIGH BEAM
