I know someone who does. He is dutch though, and you can ask for every single addition you want to it too, like flashing indicators, fpg lights etc.

PM me if you want to know more

The later voltage regulators have spade conectors instead of screw connectors. Other than that I think they do the same thing.

ESM do the various looms, but if you are going to the trouble to fit a loom then why not try and get an original style regulator? Are you sure yours is duff? You might try the club spares man (Bryan Gostling).

When you say a regulator from a later car, there are 3 types.

The lowlight one (integral fuse holders & screw terminals):

The one with a separate fuse box & screw terminals:

and the latest one with the spade connectors.

There are of course later regulators for alternators, but I'm just talking about the dynamo ones.

I think you could probably get the middle one to work with a lowlight wiring loom, but best to try it first before ordering new bits. The regs are only about £20 new anyway (except the lowlight ones which are more expensive at £100).

New loom for lowlight ('48 on) is about £80 + VAT from ESM.

No probs mate. Gracie is ok for short trips. Did not have chance to change the engine & box at the weekend and it's been monsoon season ever since! I might get chance this week to get the engine and box out of the trav though. Let's hope for a break in the weather eh?
