Toyota Gearbox

While deciding what to do about my ailing traveller My father decided to buy me a 5 speed toyota gearbox (advertised in minor matters) with the plan of getting me to learn to weld and convert it to my mog. The likleyhood of this happening is soooooo remote its just never going to happen.
OK here goes the question. Does anybody here know if you can get an adapter to fit it so it doesnt need any welding? I have no idea what it is worth (I believe it cost £100 but I could be wrong) Would anybody be interested in it or swapping it (and some folding stuff) for a type 9 adapter.
Probably a long shot but you never know unless you ask.
On a side note does anybody fancy some welding practice changing all the steel on a traveller?

Hi Terry, long time,no hear.
I don't think anyone does the conversion kit for your Toyota box. C. Ware used too, so may possibly have some old bits lying around. I have a Ford to Minor kit,its the C.S Autoclassics one, so is a quality item. PM me if you need it.(smile) not working again!!

Look up rivergate conversions in the states, they produce a kit to convert datsun boxes (maybe the same backplate holes) for the a series spridgets

Or ask on the Australian Forum at
http://www.morrisdownunder.com - they are the kings (and queens) of Japanese conversions, and may be able to help.

There used to be a guy somewhere in London (I think to the North)trading under the name of "Rooster Racing" who sold the adapter kits. Silly question, but if the box was sold as a kit, are you sure that it doesn't already have the right bell housing fitted?
I used one of the Toyota boxes many years ago with a standard conversion kit, and the instructions included limiting movement of the clutch pedal to prevent over-throw. This was achieved with a block of wood! Certainly the Ford box is a better fit, or a standard Mog box in good condition!

Better off going straight to the manufacturer:

It looks like I have a few options then. The box was sold as a "Kit" as it is the box, prop and something else that slides over the bit that goes into the engine (Notice the technical terminology) with instructions how to cut and weld it to make it fit an A series and how to adapt the prop shaft.
