They are really early! At a guess early and early/mid 1949. The first one might have even been completed in late 48 - what does the V5 say?

Steve,

They are early cars. Well worth keeping.

Roughly working the dates out, the earliest (17031) was manufactured around 9th May 1949 with the later one (22808) coming off the line around 5/6 August 1949.

The exact days might well be off slightly, but the months should be correct. They are both definately '49s

Does the early one have round tail lights and the other one rectangular ones?

Yep! Might as well pay them £48 and ask the DVLA for both the vehicles histories as well!

That's a pity at the earlier car would have had the flat round lenses which are REALLY rare and VERY sought after!

Like these:

The bottom one, not the top.

Do you know if they were on the road since the early 70's?
I managed to avoid the £19 fee (and all other fees ) because mine never had a V5 in the first place :o

Hallo SR
This is my first post so I hope this will work.

Nice pair of cars you have found.

I can tell you that the oldest of my Lowlights has SMM/9222 and were made 8-11 July 1949. Another of my Lowlights has SMM/41899 and were made 21-22 March 1950
Hope this can be a little help to you.

Regards

Gah - I'm so jealous of all these early minors!

D'y know Steve, if you ever get rid of one of those lowlights I'll have it :D :D :D :D D: D: D: D: D :)

I'd have the Traveller if I had somewhere to put it... *sigh*
