Can anyone tell if a donor car has to have mot on it befor the car registration can be transfered to an other car or can the vehicle be scrapped and then have the reg transfered.

Yep, needs an MOT. Which is good as it stops people chopping up perfectly saveable cars bought only for the number, and it makes people who want to piddle around with personal plates work harder (or at least pay more) for them. Bad however in the case of a car I started stripping today, as the owner could really do with the cash he reckons the plate would fetch, but the car is rotten to the core.

thanks, this is the problem that I have I have two MM one I started to restore and I find that the job is bigger that I thought and the other I use every day the restoration has a local reg and the other does not..
