strange pm

i just noticed i had a new pm 
how exciting thinks i but it was 4 days old and i hadn`t been notified in the usual manner 
anyway it wasn`t contained in the list of my other pms and was from someone in india saying they would like to know more about me, i deleted the pm as it didn`t quite sit right with me. now i can`t remember the username and although a couple look vaguely familiar on the members list i`m not sure it`s there, has anyone had this.
If you are genuine i apologise, just seemed a bit strange.
