I seem to have what looks like fresh grease squidging from the top of the king pin which also looks pretty new, and there is a continuous clunking while driving, would that be wear or does something need tightening.

If you mean that the grease is oozing from the top flat horizontal
area of the 'king pin' then that is not unusual in my experience.
At least it proves that you have pumped in enough grease to force
its way out! Clunks from the suspension? That is a problem with
many many solutions from loose brake back plates through worn
tie-rod rubbers to loose front damper fixing bolts!!

Cheers Willie
i`ve had a good poke round can`t seem to find any movement, i wonder how much there would have to be to make a noise ? imagine hitting a dolly with a hammer, thats the sound.

Unless there was no grease at all in the threaded joint I doubt
that it would make any sort of noise.

Sorry if I am teaching grandma to suck eggs, but have you checked the wheelnuts. I had a car once that was clunking cause the wheels were getting loose :(
